About Us
Christian and Ezra Harvey make individually designed bespoke furniture in their workshops based on the edge of the Loire Valley in rural France. Christian makes beautifully handcrafted sofas and chairs using traditional construction methods. His designs are classic and elegant, and finished with fabrics and leather to evoke a sumptuous contemporary feel. Ezra's similar approach to his profession is apparent in all his designs for dining tables, coffee tables and garden furniture. Using 200-year old reclaimed or new French oak with traditional pegging and mortise and tenon joints, he creates furniture that is simple and clean in design.
All our furniture can be made to your specification and tailored exactly to your personal requirements. In everything we do, we emphasise our use of traditional construction methods and materials to create beautiful furniture for the home and garden, that is handcrafted for life.
Christian Harvey
Christian has 17 years of experience in traditional upholstery. He began his career in 1988 with an intensive five-year apprenticeship with a master craftsman who instilled in him the values of meticulous workmanship and attention to detail. Following his apprenticeship he worked in many high class establishments developing his skills, which include high specification yacht upholstery, traditional hand sprung work and antique furniture restoration.
Ezra Harvey
Ezra Harvey has worked with all facets of wood and metal for over 25 years ranging from traditional ironwork to cutting edge stainless steel designs. In recent years he has found himself driven by the concept of contemporary design mixing old and new and using a unique combination of materials. Whilst converting his rustic French farmhouse he also developed a respect and appreciation for the traditional methods of oak construction that is reflected in the style of Makers Oak furniture. Ezra’s new skill, which he has developed over the last year, is working with copper and chemical patination, this is the use of specific chemicals to colour the metal which produces fantastic colour shades, which we have now introduced into our home and garden furniture.
