How to begin ordering from Makers Bespoke Furniture

We respond to all our emails on a daily basis, including weekends.
Ordering & Payment
We will ask for a 50% deposit to confirm your order, with the balance due on or near delivery. Your deposit can be paid either by cheque or by bank transfer in sterling to a UK bank account, or in euros to a French bank account. If you opt to pay by cheque or by bank transfer, the remaining 50% payment on your order will be required 10 days before delivery.
Your order is confirmed once payment of the deposit has cleared. We will then send you a receipt of your payment by post.
Current Lead times
All our bespoke tables and kitchen furniture items are handmade to order for each client. Once your deposit has cleared, we order the timber for your furniture from our wood yard. This process can often take up to 2 weeks, from order to collection. Once we have collected your timber we then begin the process of making your furniture.
We have become extraordinarily busy this year are now almost fully booked for 2021. There are just two more availabilities for tables for delivery prior to Christmas 2021. So if you would like a pre-Christmas delivery, now is the time to order. Orders are taken on a first come, first served basis. Our books are open to orders for 2022.
Our delivery times are dependent on the size and nature of your order. The lead time can change at any time and is affected by the combination of orders we may have at any time.
If you have a specific deadline to meet, it is advisable to contact us and confirm your order as early as you can.
France & UK Delivery
We are able to deliver to the mainland UK, and within France, and some European destinations please contact us for further details.
Our delivery charges to the UK are based on UK delivery prices. There are no additional costs for coming from France.
If it is not possible for us to deliver to you personally (because your postcode is beyond our reach) we will arrange for one of a number of excellent couriers we have available to us to do this for us. The courier fee is charged as cost and is payable directly to the courier.
If you would like a quote for a courier delivery, please email us the first line of your address and your postcode. Please also provide the name of the piece of furniture you are interested in, and we will get back to you as soon as we can. Their prices are often surprisingly reasonable!
Our aim is to deliver as quickly as possible. We always try to deliver at a time to suit you. This includes evenings and weekends where this is possible.
We will check your furniture before delivery to ensure it reaches you in excellent condition.
Where possible we will install your furniture in a room of your choice. There is no charge for this service.
If you accept a delivery date that you subsequently cannot meet, please let us know within 7 days or a re-delivery charge may apply.
Please be aware that if you wish to amend your order that it may result in a delay.
We regret that we are not able to dispose of furniture that you are replacing
We cannot accept responsibility for goods that are delayed due to circumstances that are beyond our control. Transport strikes, bad weather etc. This is very rare but can happen occasionally and can interfere with our delivery schedule.
We would appreciate it if you would inform us of any problems with vehicle access or parking to ensure smooth delivery of your furniture.
Before the point of ordering, it is very important that you measure carefully where your piece of furniture is going to go. Narrow doorways, staircases and tight corners can make it impossible to deliver your order. Please check these details carefully in advance of placing your order since we cannot issue refunds if we deliver the items and we cannot transport them to your desired location, or that they do not fit!
Bespoke dining table tops will be attached to the base once we have reached the room of your choice.
