Bespoke Chairs & Benches
All our bespoke dining chairs and benches are handmade for each client. With only one and occasionally two of us in the workshop, the ‘handmade’ process of making chairs or benches goes through many stages that can take several weeks. And because we only hand make all our dining chairs to order, often they are made in small batches. From as few as two to up to 10 at a time. So when you order a chair from us, we don’t reach for one from the shelf, we start from scratch.
Every individual piece of oak that goes into making each oak chair or dining bench is chosen, measured, cut, planed, sanded, steamed, moulded, sanded again and finished over the course of several weeks. Only the initial cutting stages involve big machinery – the rest is pretty much all done by hand. Add in some upholstery, and of course, the list of jobs gets even longer. So when you order dining furniture from Makers – it is truly bespoke.

Some of our handmade chairs and benches are made specifically to match the designs of our bespoke dining room tables. But all can be happily matched with any design.
